On Sunday April 26th GAA President Nickey Brennan marked another milestone in the Clubs History when he officially opened the New Hurling Wall overlooking the pitch. The opening saw Hurling Development Coach Paudie Butler give a strenous hour long coaching course to thirty players and their coaches drawn from the local hurling and camogie teams and players from Windgaps juvenile hurling partners in Galmoy. Also present were County Board secretary Ned Quinn and a huge crowd from over a wide area.

On the occasion Sincere thanks were expressed by the club to the National Lottery, Kilkenny County Council, Clár, Croke Park, Leinster Council and John McGuinness TD who all assisted and helped fund the construction costs of the wall.
Also and most importantly thanks were extended to the club members, supporters and the many Volunteers who gave substansially of their time, skills, machinery, tools, property, drive and enthusiam to provide the Hurling Wall, its lighting, seating and spectator facilities over the past twenty two months.
The evening commenced with the blessing of the New Facilities by Fr. Martin Cleere P.P. and closed with a welcome cup of tea and an occasion for a social get together provided by the local ladies.
